Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, the Founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International (ACI), has underscored the indispensable role of justice in fostering enduring peace in Ghana.
Addressing the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) on Sunday, Duncan-Williams asserted that genuine peace cannot be defined merely by the absence of war or conflict.
Instead, he emphasised that justice must serve as the foundation of any harmonious society.
“True peace is secured by justice, and where justice is absent, peace is unattainable,” he remarked. “It is a misconception to equate peace with the absence of conflict. Justice is the guarantor of peace, and without it, society will remain unstable.”
The Archbishop called on President John Dramani Mahama and all Ghanaians to make justice a priority in their governance and daily interactions.
He highlighted justice as a critical principle for fostering equity and ensuring the well-being of every citizen.
Elaborating further, Duncan-Williams explained that justice entails both recognising and rewarding good actions and addressing acts of wrongdoing.
“Justice is about rewarding the righteous and holding wrongdoers accountable,” he noted, stressing the importance of fairness and impartiality in leadership and society as a whole.
