Ghanaian musician Amerado has joined the conversation about who will win the Artiste of the Year award at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
The ‘Kwaku Ananse’ hitmaker shared a post detailing his activities in 2024, captioned: “Amerado in 2024: A discussion about the Artiste of the Year without mentioning Amerado in the 2024 year of review reveals a lack of knowledge and is detrimental to the industry and upcoming artists.”
As the call for nominations for the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards approaches, the debate over who will receive the Artiste of the Year award has intensified.
Other artists mentioned in the conversation include King Paluta, King Promise, Stonebwoy, Team Eternity Ghana, DopeNation, Kofi Kinaata, and Fameye.
According to the Telecel Ghana Music Awards’ guidelines, “The Artiste of the Year is the artist(s) selected by the Academy, Board, and General Public as having the highest audience appeal and popularity in the year under review. The artist(s) must have released a hit single, EP, or album and should be among those with the highest nominations for the year.”
Unless there are changes to the category definition by the TGMA Board, nominations for the Artiste of the Year category will be based on these criteria.
