Police in Bole, Savannah Region, have arrested 20-year-old unemployed man Kipo Seidu for allegedly robbing an iPhone to give as a New Year gift to his lover.
According to the victim, who wishes to remain anonymous, she was accosted by the suspect around 9 p.m. near the Bole Community Centre.
Seidu reportedly brandished a sharp knife at her neck and demanded her phone.
Fearing for her life, the victim complied and handed over her iPhone, but was able to identify Seidu afterward.
The incident was quickly reported to the Bole Police, leading to Seidu’s arrest.
During questioning, Seidu confessed to the crime, admitting he had given the stolen phone to his lover as a gift.
However, authorities state that Seidu has refused to reveal the location of his lover, complicating efforts to recover the stolen phone.
Police have indicated that the case will be taken to court for further legal action.
