Kwame Opoku’s goal-scoring form earns praise from Asante Kotoko coach

Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has commended striker Kwame Opoku for his seamless reintegration into the team after rejoining the club.

Opoku returned to the Porcupine Warriors in December 2024 on a two-and-a-half-year contract, following stints in Algeria and Morocco.

The former Nkronsa Warriors forward has wasted no time making his presence felt, netting two goals in his last three matches.

The striker was instrumental in Kotoko’s 1-1 draw against Medeama SC on Sunday at the TNA Park, finding the back of the net to secure a crucial point for his side.

Speaking after the game, Narteh Ogum expressed his delight at Opoku’s impressive start and his swift adjustment to the team’s dynamics.

“I’m proud of him (Kwame Opoku)…once he keeps scoring, he will gain the confidence. His colleagues will also have confidence in him,” he said.

“I’m proud of him he’s been able to adapt quickly and he is getting us the goals; that is the reason why we brought him the goals,” Ogum added.

Asante Kotoko currently occupies 6th place on the league table with 28 points. They are set to host Vision FC at the Baba Yara Stadium in their Matchday 17 fixture.
