Afrobeats singer Wendy Shay has extended a helping hand to victims of the recent devastating fire at Kantamanto Market, donating GHS 10,000 to aid their recovery.
The fire, which ravaged parts of the popular trading hub, left many traders counting heavy losses as their goods and livelihoods were reduced to ashes.
Wendy Shay visited the affected traders and expressed her empathy for their plight.
“As a Ghanaian, I feel their pain, and I hope this token will provide some relief as they begin to rebuild their lives,” Wendy Shay said during her visit.
The donation has been met with appreciation from the victims, many of whom have been struggling to recover from the disaster.
Representatives of the affected traders thanked Wendy Shay for her timely support and called on other individuals and organizations to emulate her example.
Earlier this afternoon I passed by Kantamanto to support those affected by the fire outbreak. May God strengthen them in this difficult time 🙏🏾❤️ pic.twitter.com/I9DsZCA1LS
