The chiefs of the Sunyani Traditional Council have unanimously named Yaw Agyare as the successor to the late Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri II.

The Sunyani Traditional Area, following the demise of the late Omanhene, has eagerly awaited the installation of a new Paramount Chief to drive development in the region.

Forty-six-year-old Yaw Agyare hails from the Kwantwiwaa Lineage of the Boahen Korkor Royal Family.

The seamless process leading to his nomination adhered to the customs, traditions, and values of the royal family, in consultation with the Nananom and the female elders.

The selection committee undertook a challenging task of evaluating seven candidates presented by the family, representing the Three Gates.

After thoroughly assessing the candidates based on their knowledge of customs and traditions, humility, vision for youth development, and the broader advancement of the Sunyani Traditional Area, as well as their potential to unify the family following a rift caused by the installation of the Queen Mother, the committee unanimously chose Mr. Yaw Agyare.

Yaw Agyare, who resides in the United States of America, is a well-known figure within the Sunyani community. A graduate of Sunyani Polytechnic, he furthered his education at the Catholic University.

In Ghana, he previously served as the IT Manager for the National Health Insurance Authority in Dormaa-Ahenkro. He currently works with the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions in the United States.

Mr. Agyare’s selection has been warmly received by the youth of Sunyani, many of whom had hoped for his nomination.

Married with a family, he is celebrated for his ingenuity and development-oriented mindset, qualities that promise a prosperous future for the Sunyani Traditional Area.

As an ardent supporter of B/A United, his appointment also brings optimism to fans of the football club, who have been concerned about the club’s declining fortunes.

With Sunyani now designated a metropolitan area, having a dynamic and diligent Paramount chief like Mr. Agyare is expected to elevate the community to new heights of development.
