Otto Addo’s future to be made known soon – GFA

-

Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum has disclosed that a decision regarding the future of Otto Addo and his Black Stars backroom staff will be announced soon.

The uncertainty surrounding the technical team comes after the Black Stars failed to secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Ghana finished last in Group F with just three points from six matches, marking one of the team’s poorest performances in recent history.

Speaking in an interview with Akoma FM, Asante Twum revealed that consultations with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Sports and other partners, have been finalized. Recommendations have been submitted to the GFA Executive Council for consideration.

“The consultations on Otto Addo and his backroom staff have been completed,” he stated.

“There have been differing opinions from the government, ministry, partners, and the coaching staff. Recommendations have been made, and the FA will soon announce the decision regarding the coach and his team,” he added.

Otto Addo has faced widespread criticism for overseeing Ghana’s disappointing AFCON qualifying campaign.

As attention shifts to the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers, the Black Stars are set to take on Chad and Madagascar in March 2025.
