Multiple social media accounts, including several on X (formerly Twitter), shared a short video of Alan Kyerematen greeting a chief seated next to ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor at the funeral of Kwame Addo Kufuor Jnr at the St Cyprian’s Anglican Church in Kumasi on Thursday, December 19, 2024.
The clips suggest Kyerematen intentionally ignored Kufuor, with captions implying political tension or disrespect.
One viral post by user KOJO DYNAMIC (@AnnanPerry) received over 30,000 views with the caption: “Alan Kojo Kyerematen swerve Kuffuor.”
Another account, Nana Otabil (@NanaOtabil12), posted: “Alan K nso. You meet the man at his nephew’s funeral, you greet everyone, and leave him? A whole President Kufuor? Ah!”
Similarly, X user Gabriel Okyere (@yourMPgabbi) added:

A fuller video posted by Graphic Online reveals the context that Alan Kyerematen had greeted ex-President Kufuor earlier when the Apagyahene was not yet seated.
Later, when the Apagyahene joined the gathering, Kyerematen stood to greet him, which explains why he did not shake Kufuor’s hand again at the moment, as shown in the viral video.
This explanation debunks claims that Alan Kyerematen deliberately ignored Kufuor or acted out of pettiness.
