The owner and President of FC Samartex, Dr Richard Nsenkyire, has confirmed that the club will reveal a new head coach on Wednesday, December 25.
The Ghana Premier League defending champions are currently without a head coach following the resignation of Nurudeen Amadu last week.
Under Amadu’s leadership, Samartex won the league title last season, but their form has been disappointing in the ongoing 2024/25 campaign. After 13 matches, the team sits 10th in the standings with 17 points.
Samartex’s struggles were further magnified after they were eliminated from the FA Cup in the Round of 64 by Bibiani Gold Stars.
Additionally, the club was knocked out in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League in their debut appearance.
Amadu’s departure came after a 1-0 home defeat to Heart of Lions in the league, with assistant coach Henry Wellington stepping in as interim manager.
Samartex then suffered another 1-0 loss to Bechem United on Matchday 13 at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
In an interview with Asempa FM‘s Ultimate Sports Show, Dr Nsenkyire confirmed that the new head coach will be unveiled on December 25.
The incoming coach is expected to be in charge of their upcoming Matchday 15 clash against Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa.
Before that, FC Samartex will face Nations FC at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Tuesday, December 24 for their Matchday 14 fixture.
