Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Member of Parliament-elect for the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese constituency, has committed to driving significant development in the area.
He assured his constituents that he will be an active MP.
Addressing a victory gathering at Moree, Kwakye Ofosu emphasized his commitment to being present in the constituency every month to collaborate with residents and work towards their progress.
He expressed profound gratitude to voters, chiefs, and the NDC executives for their dedication, which secured the party’s overwhelming victory in the December 7 elections.
“We won 27 out of 29 polling stations in Moree, and I assure you that I will not be an ‘Accra MP.’ I will be here regularly, working with you to bring the development you deserve as compensation for the massive votes you gave me,” he stated.
Mr Kwakye Ofosu also noted that, the decisive win led to the governing party’s candidate leaving the collation center.
Ekow Nkrumah, an opinion leader representing the chiefs and elders of Moree, urged the MP-elect to prioritize key development needs in the area.
These include upgrading the local health center into a polyclinic, addressing the poor state of the Moree Sec-Tech road, improving educational facilities, and creating employment opportunities.
Mr Nkrumah highlighted the community’s long-standing struggle with underdevelopment since 1992 and appealed to Kwakye Ofosu to leverage his prominence within the NDC to advocate for Moree’s growth.
“Handle him with utmost care, as his influence in the party can bring immense benefits to Moree,” he said.
The MP-elect reaffirmed his commitment to addressing these challenges and working closely with stakeholders to bring meaningful change to the constituency.
