It was good to score against Brighton – Mohammed Kudus

West Ham United forward, Mohammed Kudus says he hopes to extend his impressive goal-scoring form after finding the net in a 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 24-year-old Ghana international struck in the second half to rescue a point for the Hammers after Brighton had taken the lead shortly after the break at the London Olympic Stadium on Saturday.

Mats Wieffer opened the scoring for Albion, capitalizing on a loose clearance by Lukasz Fabianski following Pervis Estupinan’s lofted ball into the box.

Wieffer calmly slotted home from near the penalty spot, marking his first goal for the club.

West Ham responded just seven minutes later through Kudus, who was perfectly positioned to nod in a rebound after Jarrod Bowen’s shot was parried by Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.

Speaking to the club’s website, Kudus expressed his joy at the goal and his commitment to helping the team.

“It was good to score, and the goal came from where I’m most natural, on the right. It’s all about the team though, and I’ll keep learning and improving to adapt to wherever I’m asked to play,” he told the club website.

Looking ahead to West Ham’s upcoming clash against Southampton at St. Mary’s, Kudus remains optimistic about contributing further.

“We’ll go again in a few days’ time, and hopefully I can score again and help the team,” he added.

Kudus has now scored three goals in the ongoing season and hopes to remain a key figure in West Ham’s attacking lineup.
