As part of initiatives to enhance the resilience of communities and improve support networks for children’s learning, 19 youth in Krachi-Nchumuru in the Oti Region have received vocational training tools.

The presentation was made by the Krachi-Nchumuru Reading Improvement and Skills Enhancement (RISE) Technical Programme of World Vision in collaboration with the Krachi Nchumuru Assembly and the Ghana Education Service (GES).

The programme targets Most Vulnerable Children (MVC) adolescents or youths, some of whom dropped out of school due to teenage pregnancy, disability, or extreme poverty.

The beneficiaries included 10 females and 9 males who received vocational learning materials including Butterfly handle-type sewing machines, three 160A inverter MMA welding machines, hair dyers, and 800W rotary hammers valued at over Gh¢37,500 ($2,550 USD).

Speaking at the event, the Education Project manager at Krachi Cluster of World Vision Sasu Brako emphasized the importance of equipping young people with practical skills that can lead to sustainable livelihoods.

According to him, the organisation believes that by providing these vocational training tools, they are not just giving tools but offering opportunities for the youth to learn, grow, and ultimately create their own futures.

He underscored that the initiative aligns with World Vision’s commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children and their families through education and skill development.

The Education Project Manager, Sasu Brako, urged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the programme, noting that the skills acquired through the program could lead to self-employment and improved livelihoods.

He stated that this is an opportunity for them to build their future, emphasizing they take care of tools.

The Krachi Nchumuru District Education Director, David Seddoh also encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the tools provided.

He expressed gratitude for the support from World Vision, saying that donation will go along way as many young people are seeking for avenues to explore and gain skills and employment.

In a show of appreciation, the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to World Vision for the support.

They acknowledged that putting the items to good use is the only chance for them to secure their future.
