-

Black Galaxies head coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has described qualifying for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) as a significant achievement for his team.

The two teams, Ghana and Nigeria, will compete for a spot in the tournament, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania next year.

The first leg will take place on Sunday, December 22, at the Accra Sports Stadium, with kick-off at 15:00 GMT.

In an interview, the seasoned Ghanaian coach expressed that guiding his team to qualification would be a major milestone.

“Qualification would be monumental, showcasing the strength of our local league. It would provide a platform for players to gain exposure and inspire upcoming talents across Ghana,” he told CAFOnline.

The second leg will be held on Saturday, December 28, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Nigeria.

This will mark the second consecutive year the Black Galaxies will face Nigeria in the playoff round.

Two years ago, Ghana triumphed over Nigeria in a penalty shootout to secure a place in the previous CHAN edition, though they were eliminated in the quarter finals.
