Outgoing President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has expressed optimism that history will render a positive judgment on his time in office.

In an emotional speech at his last carols night with the staff of the Jubilee House, Akufo-Addo noted that he did his best and wishes it would be appreciated.

He reflected on his role as Ghana’s leader for eight years, noting his dedication to serving the country and having its best interest at heart.

Akufo-Addo acknowledged that though the full impact of his efforts may not be immediately recognized, he believes that future generations will come to appreciate his contributions.

He also lauded the December 7 elections as a commendable display of democratic accountability, refuting claims that he conspired with security agencies and the Electoral Commission to manipulate the outcome in favor of his party.

He noted that such allegations, as always, have proven to be baseless.

President Akufo-Addo concluded by expressing confidence in the integrity of the electoral process and the enduring legacy of his leadership.
