I have a plan to win Ghana Premier League – Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara

-

Hearts of Oak coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has expressed confidence in his plan to win the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title, despite his team’s 1-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko.

The Phobians were undone by a last-minute goal in the 95th minute, as Albert Amoah pounced on a mix-up between Kelvin Osei Asibey and Benjamin Asare.

The loss, which came at the Baba Yara Stadium, raised questions among fans about the team’s chances of winning the league this season.

However, Ouattara remained firm in his approach, stressing that his focus remains on his long-term plan.

“I don’t, I can’t come and ask somebody his view before I do something. All the 18 clubs need to take the league. All the 18 clubs.

“No, any coach in this game, in this league, can tell you you don’t need the league. You don’t have any club to tell you need the league. We play just 13 matches.”

He further added, “You are taking your quick conclusion. We are playing just 13 matches. After the 34 matches, my plan is not to stay in the Premier League. We need one ultimate. So the plan is to win the league.”

The loss to Kotoko saw the Porcupine Warriors leapfrog Hearts of Oak into fifth place on the league table with 21 points. The Phobians, with 19 points, dropped to seventh, three points behind leaders Heart of Lions.

Ouattara will be eager to get back on track when his side faces Berekum Chelsea in their Matchday 14 fixture at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
