Paramount Chief of the Goaso Traditional Area, Nana Kwasi Bosomprah, has passed away after a prolonged illness.
His passing was officially announced on December 16, 2024, by Otumfuo’s linguist, Kyeame Antwi Boasiako, during an Asanteman Council meeting.
Nana Bosomprah, who ascended the Goasomanhene stool in 2008, was a prominent traditional leader known for his vocal advocacy for development and his critiques of government policies that he believed hindered progress in the Goaso area.
Just last month, speculation about his death surfaced online, prompting Nana Bosomprah to publicly refute the rumors in an interview.
However, it was acknowledged that he had been battling health challenges in recent months.
Nana Kwasi Bosomprah’s passing marks the end of an era for the Goaso Traditional Area, leaving a significant void in the traditional landscape.
Funeral arrangements and traditional rites are expected to be announced by the family and traditional council in due course.
