The newly constituted Organised Reporting and Accountability Leadership (ORAL) team, headed by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has vowed to operate without any financial strain on the state.
Following their inaugural meeting on Wednesday, December 18, Mr. Ablakwa announced via social media that the committee members had unanimously decided to serve without remuneration.
“We shall not be receiving salaries, allowances, per-diems or fuel coupons. None of our activities will come at a cost to the taxpayer. We continue to count on your support, let’s do this for God and Country.”
This approach, he said, aligns with their mission to support President-elect John Dramani Mahama’s vision for a corruption-free administration.
The ORAL Team was established to provide a platform for citizens to report suspected corruption cases for investigation.
According to Mr. Ablakwa, the team’s decision to forgo salaries, allowances, and other benefits reflects their dedication to public service and their desire to ensure that every aspect of their work is beyond reproach.
He stressed that the team’s work would rely on the active involvement of Ghanaians, urging citizens to report instances of corruption and partner with the committee to strengthen accountability mechanisms.
The ORAL Team is expected to engage closely with government agencies and civil society to ensure reported cases are thoroughly investigated and addressed.
The anti-corruption campaign has Operation Recover All Loots as it’s major plank.
