Nurudeen Amadu has parted ways with FC Samartex, the defending champions of the Ghana Premier League as head coach.
The experienced Ghanaian coach, who joined the team in July 2023, left the club by mutual agreement after overseeing 13 matches in the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Under his leadership, FC Samartex clinched the 2023/24 Premier League title.
However, the team has struggled this season, suffering three consecutive losses in the league and being eliminated from the MTN FA Cup after a 2-0 defeat to rivals Bibiani GoldStars SC.
In their debut CAF Champions League campaign, FC Samartex was knocked out in the preliminary round by Raja Casablanca.
Assistant coach, Henry Wellington will temporarily take over the team’s coaching duties until a permanent replacement is appointed.
Currently sitting 10th on the league table with 17 points, FC Samartex will face Bechem United at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in the Matchday 14 fixtures this weekend.
