Police investigate Akufo Addo’s damaged statue

The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the damage inflicted on the statue of President Akufo-Addo at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital Roundabout in Sekondi, Western Region.

The statue, which has been a subject of controversy, is located at the entrance of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital.

On Monday, December 16, 2024, observers noticed a gaping hole at the back of one of the statue’s legs.

Preliminary findings indicate that, the statue’s left leg is damaged and that its commemorative plaque has been removed.

The Police in a statement assured the public that efforts are underway to apprehend those responsible for the damage and to ensure they are brought to justice.
