Newly elected Member of Parliament(MP) for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng has said his victory marks the beginning of a new dawn for the constituency.
Kwame A Plus has said his people have been cheated for too long with almost all their lands stolen.
In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, programme Wednesday, he vowed to reclaim all lands to serve justice for his people.
“This year, the Supreme Court ordered the return of the lands going into Aburi to the rightful owners and that is what I want to do for the people of Gomoa. I will get the documents on all the lands.
“We will use the system and do that legally. We are building a new Gomoa and will protect our properties. I will be actively involved and reclaim all their properties before my tenure ends,” he pledged.
A Plus accused the Lands Commission of selling their lands and will file and injunction against the latter.
“I have spoken to the lawyers and next week, we will file an injunction. Lands Commission does not own any land in Gomoa Central,” he stated.
The musician turned politician garnered 14,277 votes out of 36,026 total valid votes cast on December 7, 2024.
A Plus defeated the incumbent MP and NPP Candidate, Naana Eyiah Quansah who doubles as Deputy Interior Minister.
Naana Eyiah polled 11,637 votes while the NDC’s Yawson Mohammed came third with 10,112 votes.
