Sudan head coach, Kwesi Appiah, has expressed his readiness to offer any support necessary to help the Black Stars qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
This comes after Ghana failed to secure a spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which will be held in Morocco.
The four-time African champions finished at the bottom of Group F after six matches, with three losses and three draws, earning just three points.
This marks the first time in two decades that the Black Stars will miss the continental tournament.
With the 2026 World Cup qualifiers set to resume in March 2025, Appiah, who serves as Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member told Asempa FM‘s Ultimate Sports Show that he is committed to assisting the team in any way possible.
“If you look at the current players, they are good so with any form of assistance, I will be there to support and ensure the team qualify because, at the end of the day, it is about Ghana and not anybody,” he said.
As it stands, Ghana is second in Group I with nine points, tied with Comoros, who lead the group. The Black Stars’ next matches in the qualifiers will be against Chad and Madagascar.
Meanwhile, Appiah, who is leading Sudan’s national team, has had a successful campaign, guiding the Falcons of Jediane to the top of Group B with 10 points from four matches.
