A group of individuals reportedly broke into the Forestry Commission depot at Achimota in Accra, making away with several valuable items.
According to anonymous sources, the intruders were spotted wearing branded National Democratic Congress (NDC) shirts and chanting, “Our government is now in power,” as they stormed the facility early this morning.
Items stolen during the break-in include 24 air conditioners, laptops, and other essential equipment belonging to the Commission.
The intruders also attempted to seize keys to newly acquired vehicles but failed in their efforts.
The incident has sparked concerns about security at state-owned properties, particularly in the wake of the political transition following the 2024 elections.
Authorities have not confirmed whether the break-in is politically motivated.
The Police, upon being alerted, swiftly arrived at the scene to restore order.
They have since secured the premises and launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
The Forestry Commission has not yet issued a public statement on the matter, but updates are anticipated as the investigation progresses.
