Police probe attack on Ursula Owusu’s residence

The Ghana Police Service have begun investigations into the attack on the residence and office of Ablekuma West MP, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful on Monday.

In a statement, the Police noted that a gang of about 15 men, allegedly invaded, vandalised and stole properties of the MP who doubles as the Minister for Communication and Digitalisation.

The Police assured the Crime Scene Management team had conducted a visit to the location as part of the ongoing investigation into the matter.

“Currently, a targeted intelligence-led operation is ongoing to get the suspects arrested to face justice, and we assure the public that we will get them.

“Meanwhile, the Police leadership is in contact with her, and security at her office and residence has been beefed up to ensure her safety,” the statement added.

The incident reportedly occurred around 1:17 PM on Monday and was initially announced by the New Patriotic Party(NPP) National Youth Organiser, Salam Mustapha.

An undisclosed amount of cash, a branded Nissan Hardbody vehicle, a television set, a printer, two stabilizers, mobile phones, food supplies, and three brand-new motorbikes.

The MP’s CCTV cameras, barbed wire, and the office door were also vandalised.
