Joint transitional team to be inaugurated – Mahama

President-elect, John Mahama has announced the inauguration of a joint transitional team on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

Mr Mahama announced in his first address following the Electoral Commission’s (EC) official declaration of his victory on Monday evening.

He announced the inauguration will be done with outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo.

“I have also just received a call from His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo. He graciously extended his congratulations to me, and we had the opportunity to discuss matters related to the joint transition team. We have agreed on an early inauguration of the joint transition team as early as Wednesday, 11th December,” he said.

The Transition Team is a significant step in ensuring a smooth and orderly transfer of power.
The team will facilitate the handover process, ensuring that the incoming administration is well-prepared to take on the responsibilities of governance.

Mahama further expressed his appreciation for the efforts and affirmed his readiness to collaborate and take the necessary steps in the interest of the people.

“I conveyed my sincerest regards to him and expressed my readiness for us to work together to ensure a smooth transition in the best interest of the Ghanaian people,” he added.
