Chaos erupted at the Kpandai constituency collation center in the Northern Region as supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) stormed the venue.
They alleged that the ongoing vote collation had been rigged in favor of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Matthew Nyindam, who is reportedly in the lead.
The agitated crowd, armed with bottles and sticks, threatened to burn down the building if the Electoral Commission (EC) declared Nyindam the winner.
The situation escalated, with Biometric Verification Devices (BVRs) being taken away and some ballots destroyed during the fracas.
Military personnel were swiftly deployed to the scene to restore order and prevent further destruction.
The incident has added to the tension in the constituency as the nation awaits the final election results.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
