Ghanaians have rejected 8 years of “corruption and state capture” – NDC

-

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said its victory in the 2024 election is a good omen for Ghana.

The National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi has said the results show that majority of Ghanaians have voted against the eight years of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) bad governance.

“From the results we have seen so far from our internal collations and provisional results, it is very clear that Ghanaians have rejected eight years of corruption, eight years of state capture, eight years of waste, and eight years of nepotism and cronyism,” he stated.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday morning, December 8, he added that the election results are a testament to the rejection of “eight years of economic mismanagement, eight years of insensitivity, and arrogance” under Nana-Addo’s leadership.

He said Ghanaians have voted massively for change, and nothing will harm that decision.

The Electoral Commission(EC) is expected to announce the final certified results in the coming hours.

But provisional results suggest a significant shift in parliamentary seats as well, with the NDC gaining ground in several constituencies previously held by the NPP.

Meanwhile, the NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has conceded defeat and congratulated the NDC’s John Mahama.
