The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for the Tano North Constituency, Gideon Boako, has won the seat.
The aide to Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia garnered 21,127 votes to beat his only contender, Pious Opoku of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Dr Boako, an indigene of Bomaa obtained considerable support within the party after securing a decisive victory in the NPP primaries.
He defeated incumbent MP, Freda Prempeh to emerge victorious on January 27, 2024, and was confident about retaining the seat for the NPP.
