2024 election: Asiedu Nketia’s son wins Tano South seat

-

Son of National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has been declared the winner in the parliamentary race in the Tano South constituency.

Charles Asiedu’s victory marks a significant political achievement for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ahafo Region.

The party flipped five out of six parliamentary seats, a major improvement from the two seats it held previously.

The result is seen as a strong statement of the NDC’s growing influence in a region historically considered an NPP stronghold.

Despite not campaigning in Bechem, the largest town in the constituency, Charles Asiedu strategically focused his efforts on grassroots mobilization in the rural areas which won him the seat.
