Asante Akyem Central astroturf 90% complete

The first-ever Astroturf pitch aimed at promoting sporting activities in Odumasi and its surrounding areas within the Asante Akyem Central constituency of the Ashanti region is nearing completion.

In a viral video, the Municipal Chief Executive Officer (MCE) for the area, Robert Yaw Kwakye, was seen working alongside contractors as they put the finishing touches on the facility.

This Astroturf is part of a promise made by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to the community, and it is expected to nurture sports talents and boost economic activities in the region.

Asante Akyem Central consists of 22 communities and has produced prominent athletes, including Sulley Muntari, Rabiu Mohammed, Vida Anim, and John Amponsah, among others.
