The victim of the tragic accident at Sunyani-Asufufu on Tuesday night has been identified as Margaret Boadi, a final-year Midwifery student at the Catholic University of Ghana, Fiapre-Sunyani.
Margaret, who was also a mother, tragically lost her life after being trapped under a truck that overturned.
The accident occurred when a truck, heavily loaded with wood, lost control and tipped over onto a motorbike.
Margaret was a passenger on the motorbike, which was crushed beneath the truck.
Despite frantic efforts by local residents to rescue her, she succumbed to her injuries.
The motorbike rider, who has not yet been identified, was pulled from the wreckage in critical condition and rushed to a nearby hospital.
Margaret’s death has sent shockwaves through her family, friends, and the Catholic University of Ghana community.
In a statement issued by the school, it sent messages of condolence to the grieving family.
