The Electoral Commission (EC) has outlined a series of media briefings to provide timely updates on the Presidential and Parliamentary Elections slated for December 7, 2024.
These briefings are designed to promote transparency and keep the public well-informed about the electoral process.
In a statement signed by the Deputy Chairman for Operations, Samuel Tettey, the EC stressed the critical role of accurate reporting during the elections.
Accredited media personnel at the National Collation Centre are encouraged to participate in the briefings, which will cover updates on election activities, address reports from across the country, and respond to any arising concerns.
The schedule for the briefings is as follows:
- 9:00 AM: First briefing
- 12:00 PM: Second briefing
- 3:00 PM: Third briefing
- 6:00 PM: Fourth briefing
- 9:00 PM onwards: Continuous updates as results are received
Each session will last no more than 30 minutes. Additional briefings will be conducted after 9:00 PM as results come in, continuing until the Presidential Election results are officially declared.
The EC has also urged media houses and the public to verify any election-related information directly with the Commission to curb misinformation.
“The Electoral Commission remains committed to conducting fair, transparent, credible, and peaceful elections,” the statement concluded.
