What are you coming to do? Akufo-Addo asks Mahama

-

President Nana Akufu-Addo has questioned what former President John Mahama is coming back to do at the Jubilee House after being rejected by the people of Ghana in 2016 and 2020.

According to him, the National Democratic Congress(NDC) flagbearer suffered a humiliating defeat after Ghanaians tasted his bad governance ridden with erratic power supply.

‘All the leaders under the fourth Republic had the opportunity to serve a two-term in office as guaranteed by the constitution, with the exception of the late J.E.A Mills who was whisked away by death. Mr. John Dramani Mahama is the only president under the fourth Republic who has been rejected twice after serving his first term in office,” he remarked.

Akufo-Addo was speaking at a durbar organized in his honour by the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council in Kyebi as part of his ‘ Thank You Tour’ in the Eastern Region.

As the December 7 election draws nears, Akufo-Addo urged Ghanaian to reject Mahama again.

He stated that, Vice President and New Patriotic Party(NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia is the best man to continue the numerous social intervention and projects undertaken by his administration.

‘On Saturday, I want you to vote massively for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to protect and continue all the developmental projects I’ve started,” Akufo-Addo urged.

He added that Mahama has exhibited to the world that he doesn’t believe in all his policies including free SHS, the Agenda 111, the 1D1F project, and the numerous projects under his administration, hence a vote for him will jeopardize them.

‘Mahama doesn’t have a Policy, he goes about telling people that he is going to reset Ghana. Is reset a policy? He says 24 Hour Economy, anytime you ask for an explanation, he says 24 hour economy is voluntary. You couldn’t keep our lights on for 24 hours but you want to do a 24-hour economy? How ?” The president questioned.

He criticized those playing religious cards in this election, stating that, all Ghanaians, irrespective of his religious inclination have the same rights and privileges.

The Okyenhene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin maintained that it takes only a visionary leader and a person who thinks about the unborn general to take the many decisions Nana Addo has taken in his government.

The Okyenhene hinted that, the Free SHS Policy is an initiative that will go into history as one of the good things that has ever happened to Ghana.

‘Today, many people may not see the impact of free SHS, but in the near future, we shall appreciate it. No child should be denied basic education irrespective of the financial standing of their parents or family,’ Osagyefuo he touted.

He added that, posterity will be the best judge.
