Nkwanta South MCE donates cement for construction of maternity facility at Chaiso-Adele

The Municipal Chief Executive MCE) for Nkwanta South in the Oti Region, Felix Owusu-Gyimah, has donated bags of cement to the Chaiso-Adele community for the construction of a much-needed maternity facility.

The contribution aims to enhance maternal healthcare services in the area, ensuring that expectant mothers have access to safe and reliable medical care during childbirth.

The construction of a maternity facility that was started by the community has been installed for so many years due to lack of funding to enable complete the much-needed project.

During the donation ceremony to present the bags of cement to the community leaders, MCE Owusu-Gyimah underscored the importance of improving healthcare infrastructure, particularly in rural areas where access to medical facilities can be limited.

According to him, every mother deserves a safe environment to give birth and the construction of the maternity facility will serve as a beacon of hope for the people.

He noted that Chaiso-Adele community has long faced challenges in accessing quality maternal healthcare, often requiring expectant mothers to travel long distances to reach nearest hospital.

The MCE believes that the new maternity facility when completed is expected to alleviate these challenges, providing essential services such as prenatal care, safe delivery, and postnatal support.

Mr Owusu-Gyimah urged the people of Chaiso to vote for the NPP government and Dr Alhaji Bawumia to continue it developmental works, saying it is only the NPP government that can transform the country.

Nana Gyenbur Ansah Etinemba, the chief of Chaiso-Adele, expressed profound gratitude for the generous donation.

He acknowledged the challenges faced by the community in accessing maternal healthcare and highlighted the positive impact that the new maternity facility would have on the lives of many families.

“We are thankful for this support from the MCE. It shows that our leaders care about our wellbeing”.

The chief also appeal to mobile network providers to extend their services to the community, as better communication will help them acc healthcare and other essential services more effectively.
