The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, has expressed confidence in securing re-election in the upcoming December polls.
Speaking to Joy News during the special voting exercise at the University of Ghana, the incumbent MP highlighted the support she has garnered from her constituents, particularly students.
Lydia Alhassan pointed to various developmental projects she has facilitated in the constituency over the past four years.
She emphasized the government’s prioritization of education and support for businesses.
She also noted the strong backing of students on campus, expressing optimism about their role in her re-election.
“I am confident that my constituents appreciate my hard work. They have come to recognize that their MP is calm, whole, respectful, hardworking, and accountable to them. They have seen the projects I have facilitated in this constituency over the past four years. My government has truly prioritized education and business,” she said.
“We have always been strong on campus; the NPP consistently wins in tertiary institutions. The students on campus know and understand us. They are aware of what I have done for them and how well I have engaged with them. I have met with them several times, and they have assured me that come December 7th, they will vote for me and the NPP. For them, this is a ‘Thank You’ vote,” the MP added.
