The Eastern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jeff Konadu Addo, has slammed his counterpart in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Mark Oliver Kevor, for allegedly misleading his party about their prospects in the 2024 election.

Speaking in an interview on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Mr. Konadu claimed the NDC flagbearer, John Mahama, is upset with Dr Kevor.

He therefore challenged Dr Kevor to tell Ghanaians the reason for Mahama’s anger.

He stated, I hear Mahama is angry with at Dr. Kevor because he has been telling him lies about the NDC’s chances in the Eastern Region. The truth is, NDC cannot win here.

Mr. Konadu further accused Dr. Kevor of creating false hope among NDC members.

He told Mahama that the Eastern Region is a swing region and that they will win the December 7 elections here. But that’s not what is happening on the ground,” he claimed.

He emphasized that the NPP is poised to retain its dominance in the region.

“NDC is losing big time in the Eastern Region. They are targeting constituencies like Nkawkaw and Fanteakwa, but let me tell them—those seats are not going anywhere. They cannot snatch them from us,” Mr. Konadu added.

He also said the NPP currently holds 22 of the 33 seats in the region and is aiming to win all.

“We are not only protecting our seats; we are targeting all 33 seats in the region. Dr. Kevor knows the truth, but he keeps lying to his party members and deceiving them,” he said.

Addressing allegations of violence, Mr. Konadu assured that the NPP will conduct its campaigns peacefully.

“We will not condone violence, but we will protect ourselves and ensure our people’s safety,” he stated.
