The Eastern Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Asene-Manso-Akroso (AMA), George Kwame Aboagye, have compensated the families of victims of a 2012 accident at Akyem Asuboa.

Three NPP supporters were killed, and 13 others were injured on March 18, 2012, when an Urvan bus with registration number GP 450-P ignored warning signs to slow down and ran into a crowd during a rally.

At a campaign rally ahead of the 2024 elections, Mr. Aboagye, popularly called “Oluwa” and who doubles as the NPP Parliamentary candidate, presented GH₵5,000 each to the 13 survivors.

The families of the deceased were also given GH₵10,000 each.

Speaking to Adom News, the NPP Eastern Regional Chairman, Jeff Konadu Addo, acknowledged the victims and their families for their patience.

Mr. Konadu also commended them for not leaving the party after such a tragic incident and pleaded with all party faithful to keep supporting the only party that recognizes the good works of its members.

For his part, the MP also called on all NPP members in the constituency to continue supporting him and Dr. Bawumia for victory in the upcoming December elections.
