The Director of Beyond The Word, Sylvester Nkrumah, has urged traditional leaders and chiefs of Nkwanta South in the Oti Region to prioritize peace in the area to unlock business opportunities.
According to him, Nkwanta South, known for its rich resources and strategic location, has long been viewed as a promising hub for business development.
However, the recent unrest has created an atmosphere of uncertainty, deterring potential investors and stifling local businesses.
Mr. Nkrumah emphasized that peace is a prerequisite for economic growth and sustainable development.
Speaking in an interview with Adom News, Mr. Nkrumah highlighted the importance of collaboration between the traditional authorities in the area to give peace a chance.
He stated that for businesses to thrive, the area needs a stable environment where investors feel secure.
He noted that the role of chiefs in maintaining peace cannot be overstated, as their influence can help bridge gaps and foster dialogue among conflicting parties.
The director also pointed out that Beyond Group of Companies is committed to investing in the municipality, but the recent climate of conflict poses significant challenges.
He expressed hope that the chiefs would take proactive steps to mediate disputes and promote unity among the people of Nkwanta South.
Also, in regard to the election, Sylvester Nkrumah urged the youth in the area to resist the temptation of engaging in violence, highlighting that their energy and passion could be better directed toward constructive dialogue and community building.
The director stressed that violence only perpetuates a cycle of conflict and hinders progress.
He called on the youth to be ambassadors of peace, encouraging them to participate in the election process responsibly and advocate for positive change without resorting to aggression.
