Spice praises Stonebwoy for introducing her to Ghana through dancehall music

Jamaican dancehall artiste Spice has revealed that her discovery of Ghana was inspired by the music of Stonebwoy.

Speaking on Okay FM during her visit to Ghana, she shared how she first encountered the award-winning artiste and how it changed her perception of the country.

“I was surprised to know Stonebwoy is from Ghana when I first heard his song in Jamaica,” Spice said. “I thought it was a Jamaican delivering that sound, but I was told he’s from Ghana. That’s how I discovered the entire country.”

Spice, known for her contributions to global dancehall music, expressed her admiration for Ghanaian artistes and their role in putting the country on the map through the genre.

She noted that her interest in Ghana deepened as she began to follow Stonebwoy and explore other artistes from the region.

The Jamaican star is currently in Ghana to shoot the music video for Jille & Whine, a viral track from Stonebwoy’s Up and Running album.

This collaboration underscores the growing global influence of Ghanaian music, particularly in the dancehall and Afrobeat genres.
