The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asutifi South in the Ahafo Region, Robert Dwomoh Mensah says he suspects foul play in the fire which razed Osuodumgya Basic School at Hwidiem.
The fire incident which occurred on Thursday morning has left teachers and pupils stranded.
In an interview with Adom News, Mr Dwomoh said the security man during an interaction said he heard footsteps shortly before fire razed the entire school.
Aside this, the DCE mentioned that he has received reports that some vehicles parked at Hwidiem had their windscreens destroyed by unknown persons.
On the back of this, Mr Dwomoh has pledged immediate action to expose the perpetrators.
Asutifi South MP, Alhaji Collins Dauda who has visited the school and corroborated the DCE’s narrative said another structure at Zongo has also been razed by fire.
