Bawku Central Member of Parliament (MP), Mahama Ayariga, has urged Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin to cease what he has described as his media rants.
According to him, the Effutu MP must be bold enough to come to Parliament with his issues and seek redress instead of always running to the media.
Ayariga’s comment came after the Majority abandoned the parliamentary session on Thursday, leading Speaker Alban Bagbin to indefinitely suspend sitting once again.
Shortly after the adjournment, the Majority Leader held a media address, expressing his disappointment in the Speaker, among other things, accusing him of supervising chaos.
However, in an interview on Accra-based Citi FM, Mr. Ayariga criticized the posture of the Majority Leader.
“Clearly, they have abandoned their own mission. People have to go back and campaign. But you go out there and organize long press conferences and you are saying unprintable things about the Speaker and threatening the Speaker.
“If you are a man, come to the chamber and issue the threats in the chamber. Come and argue your case in the chamber. It is not for you to go and be arguing your case on the radio,” he stated.
He admonished the Effutu MP to redirect his focus toward effectively advancing government business and addressing pressing issues for the benefit of Ghanaians.
