The Member of Parliament for Bole Bamboi, Yusif Sulemana, has urged MPs from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to “set aside their egos” and embrace their new role as the minority in Parliament.
Mr. Sulemana’s comments come amid growing frustration over the absence of NPP members at a recent parliamentary session, which they had originally requested.
Expressing his disappointment, Sulemana criticized the NPP’s actions, noting the financial costs incurred due to their absence.
“We should be addressing the financial loss caused by their actions. Calling us to a session only for them not to show up wastes parliamentary resources. When they attend, they need to set their egos aside and acknowledge that, for now, they are the minority and should occupy the Minority side,” he stated.
In response to the absence of the NPP MPs, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin adjourned the session indefinitely.
