The vice-presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has urged Ghanaians to unite in voting out the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration in the upcoming elections.
She emphasized that this change is essential to reset the nation and lift citizens from the current economic challenges.
During her address to NDC members and supporters at Adaklu Waya on Tuesday, November 5, as part of her campaign tour in the Volta Region, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang highlighted the need for a leader with integrity, experience, and vision to guide the nation through this crisis.
She stressed that John Dramani Mahama, the NDC’s presidential candidate, possesses the leadership qualities needed to restore the economy and serve the country with transparency and respect.
“It’s critical that we choose a leader who is honest, respects the people, inspires confidence, and takes responsibility,” she said.
“We need someone who will admit mistakes and push us forward.”
She asserted that, despite previous accusations by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) against Mr. Mahama, time has proven his capabilities and integrity.
“Let us all take note. Now, who are the guilty ones?” she asked, hinting that the critics now face accountability for their own actions.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also outlined the NDC’s plans to address economic hardships and empower citizens, especially youth and women, through initiatives like the 24-Hour Economy, the National Apprenticeship Programme, the Women’s Development Bank, and the Big Push.
These policies, she said, aim to create jobs and alleviate the struggles of everyday Ghanaians.
She further urged the electorate to support John Dramani Mahama in the presidential election and to vote for NDC parliamentary candidates for a unified approach to national progress.
