The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged to develop an airport city in the Manhyia North constituency of the Ashanti Region.
According to Dr. Bawumia, the project will be modeled after the Airport City in Accra, should he be elected president on December 7.
Dr. Bawumia made the promise during his Ashanti Regional tour, where he expressed his commitment to leading this initiative.
“We want to establish an Airport City here in Manhyia North so that you can reap the benefits. I led the negotiations for this airport with the UK government… Just as we have an Airport City in Accra, we want to create one here in Kumasi.”
In appealing for voter support, he added, “If you vote for me, by the grace of God, I can serve as president for eight years, and I will return here to give an account of my work.
“Promote me and let me be president. Give me the steering wheel, and let me drive.”
