French side Brest continued their superb run in the Champions League with a clinical win at Sparta Prague to move up to second in the League Phase table.
Edimilson Fernandes volleyed the visitors in front in the 37th minute after a corner was half-cleared to the former West Ham midfielder on the edge of the box.
They added a second in the 79th minute when Sparta midfielder Kaan Kairinen bundled Ludovic Ajorque’s pass across goal into his own net, with visiting striker Kamory Doumbia lurking behind him.
Sparta scored a late consolation through Victor Olatunji in the 92nd minute but the visitors held on for their third win in four European games.
Brest are playing in a European competition for the first time this season and remain unbeaten in the Champions League, having also defeated Sturm Graz, Red Bull Salzburg and drawn with Bayer Leverkusen.
They are fourth in the Champions League League Phase table, while Sparta Prague slipped to 26th and have lost their past two matches in the competition.
