Voting for Mahama will set Ghana backwards – Akufo-Addo

-

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed that a vote for John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming December elections would be a setback for Ghana.

He remarked that Mahama and the NDC have “nothing new” to offer the nation.

Addressing chiefs and elders in the Western North Region on Wednesday, President Akufo-Addo highlighted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, represents fresh hope and progress for Ghana’s future.

He urged the audience to support the NPP in sustaining and advancing the country’s development.

“John Dramani Mahama will visit here again before we vote in December 2024. When he comes, ask him about the Kumasi Brewery. It produced beer and Guinness, running three shifts in 24 hours. Yet, it collapsed under his administration.

“You want a 24-hour economy but couldn’t manage what was already in your care. Is it now that you will do something about it?”

Akufo-Addo further urged Ghanaians to avoid a “step backward” and instead back Bawumia to propel Ghana to the next stage of development.
