National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on Ghanaians to participate fully in the upcoming elections.
He dismissed the idea of abstaining from the elections due to unfulfilled promises, particularly by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Addressing residents of Akwasease in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency, Ashanti Region, on Tuesday, November 5, Asiedu Nketia underscored that refraining from voting weakens democracy and reduces opportunities for real change.
He urged the community to stay optimistic and highlighted the importance of holding leaders accountable through active engagement in the December elections.
“I’m baffled when I hear people say they won’t vote because a government failed to fulfill its promises. While it’s true some promises weren’t met, that shouldn’t deter you from voting.
“If you want accountability, abstaining isn’t the solution. Leaders know they hold power because of your votes, and they recognize you can withdraw that support. Choosing not to vote only strengthens their position.
“Now is the time to come together as one people and vote them out. Their governance has been poor,” he said.
