Ama Fokuo, the ex-wife of Ayawaso North Member of Parliament(MP) Alhaji Yussif Issaka Jajah has been accused of land theft at East Legon.

The land in contention is located close to the ANC Mall in East Legon which was purchased in 1979.

“The East Legon chief was supposed to regularise the land for us and it has even resulted in some litigation which is currently before the court

In an interview on Asempa FM Ekosii Sen, a daughter of the owner of the land, Nyamekye disclosed there has never been any dispute on the land.

According to her, Madam Fokuo appeared from nowhere on Monday, November 4, 2024, claiming ownership amidst heavy security deployment.

Nyamekye explained the plot of land is in a water-logged area and they therefore had to do a lot of work before commencing the building.

“They demolished our building and started their own project this morning amidst heavy Police and SWAT deployment. We are the only people with the legitimate document on the land. We have a vesting document and if she is the rightful owner, I don’t know why she will come with armed security man who claim to be acting on orders from above,” she stated.

Almost in tears, Nyamekye disclosed they have spent almost $45,000 dollars on the foundation alone which has now gone down the drain.

In their quest for justice, she stated the family has officially lodge a complaint with the Police.
