The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has urged party members in Afrancho-Akomadan, Offinso North Constituency in the Ashanti Region, to prioritize policies and a long-term vision over financial incentives from opposition parties when voting.
He cautioned that accepting money in exchange for votes undermines opportunities for meaningful development and emphasized that such short-term decisions could hinder the community’s progress.
Speaking during the NDC’s Retail Campaign in the Ashanti Region on Monday, November 4, Asiedu Nketia encouraged voters to support candidates dedicated to sustainable growth and effective governance for the constituency’s benefit.
“If all you want is money and goodies instead of focusing on development projects, how can progress happen? They may have enough funds for meaningful investments but choose to spend only a little to win your votes,” he stated.
“Anyone who fails to see the NDC’s contributions to development in the Ashanti Region must not be paying attention. Our projects benefit everyone. If the other party offers money based on status without tangible community improvements, and you still vote for them, we might also follow that path.”
