The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has suggested that President Nana Akufo-Addo may be acknowledging a potential New Patriotic Party (NPP) loss in the upcoming December 7 elections.
Mahama expressed this view during a rally in Biakoye in the Oti Region on Monday, November 4, as part of his nationwide campaign to garner support ahead of the elections.
According to Mahama, recent comments made by President Akufo-Addo indicate a shift in tone, hinting at a willingness to transfer power to the NDC if they win.
He cited the President’s recent commitment to a peaceful transition, assuring the public of his intention to hand over power to the election’s winner.
“The reason you must vote for the NDC is because we will hold accountable all those who have taken from the public purse. Dr. Bawumia cannot do that, which is why he said he wouldn’t hand over power to me. But recently, I heard him say he will hand over power to whoever wins. This only shows he knows the NPP is about to lose and is aware that John Dramani Mahama is coming back to the Jubilee House,” Mahama stated.
