Akufo-Addo’s administration has been a ‘horror movie’ – Mahama

-

Former President John Mahama has accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of undermining the country’s democratic since assuming power.

According to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, his successor has subjected Ghanaians to an experience that is nothing short of a horror movie.

Speaking at a governance forum in Accra on Thursday, Mahama emphasized the economic hardships and a perceived governance crisis as evidence of this decline.

“Our democratic institutions have been put under great strain for the last eight years. All the gains we made in strengthening our public institutions since 1982 have been severely eroded,” he said.

He urged the public to vote against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December 7 elections for liberation.

“This horror movie Ghanaians have been subjected to for the last eight years must come to an end. The pledge to protect the public purse was just a folly promise; indeed, as some people humorously say, they have not emptied the public purse—they have stolen from it.

“The insatiable greed of appointees of this administration has not even spared the environment, including our water bodies and forest reserves,” he added.
